The PLM procedure abnormally terminates under the following circumstances:

1. The item store is generated with the STORE statement in the GLIMMIX procedure.
2. BY processing is used in PROC GLIMMIX.
3. One or more of the BY groups fail to converge.

PROC PLM issues an error message such as ERROR: An exception has been encountered or the SAS^® System terminates unexpectedly.

To circumvent the problem in PROC PLM, use a WHERE statement to omit the BY groups that failed to converge in PROC GLIMMIX.
